Solar power for Basix alternate energy requirement – Long Jetty Central Coast NSW

Solar power Basix alternate energy requirement for two new townhouses

The client was a builder requiring alternate energy compliance for the new build. The solution was to provide a system of at least 1.5kW with the additional power to cover hot water generation.

The installation was done in three parts:

  1. DC Cables from roof to inverter were installed while the building was under construction and roof and walls were open.
  2. Installation of solar panels on each roof (five degree pitch) with tilt legs which faced the panels 22 degrees north for maximum production. The panels were installed away from the front roof edge as the client requested that they should not be seen from the road.
  3. Near completion of the project, the inverter and switchboard installations were done.

The system was designed with additional cables so that the future owners of the property could install more panels and upgrade or add an inverter.
